The SPACI Awards Structure
About ICONZ
Iconz Adventure uses an awards system called SPACI to credit boys for
achievement. Kids love recognition and so to support this need we have developed
our programme around five components that make up a balanced Christian Life Style. These
components are Spiritual, Physical, Adventure, Community and Interest - or SPACI to use it is
as an acronym.
Each of the five SPACI components are woven into the year's programme through a series of
award modules after which sew on awards are presented to our members for their regular
participation in each study module. The awards cover activities such as missions studies,
bush & adventure activities, cycling focus, physical activities, swimming, sports & camping,
community events such as Anzac parades & crafts, construction & hobby projects. There are
three levels to the SPACI programme - bronze, silver and gold. Obviously bronze is for the
first year, silver the second and gold the third.
Below you may browse the various awards available under Iconz Adventure's SPACI Awards structure -
each award has a short summary and an image of the sew on badge awarded to boys upon their
successful completion of the unit. To view each level simply follow the link to the specific page.
The awards are grouped by level and component. At this stage information on awards is only available
for Bronze (Koru) and Silver (Mere) Level awards, but Gold (Waka) Level awards should hopefully be
added soon.
