Getting Started

All that is required is one person to get the ball rolling by ‘driving’ the concept within the church to give it enough momentum...

  • Contact the ICONZ Regional contact for your area to get our promo information and have a yarn!
  • Identify 2 or 3 (or more) other people that might want to get started with you! Take a good look at all the promotions material and other information. Pray about your commitment and the role you wish to have in the ministry. Gather some friends and other people from your church who may want to help lead the group.
  • Seek the approval from your church leadership team to establish a new ICONZ Ministry. (ICONZ staff can talk to your pastoral staff). We will arrange a meeting between ICONZ staff and your church leadership or we are happy to give a presentation to your congregation when you are ready.
  • Arrange a meeting with regional staff to cover the finer points of ICONZ and set a timeline in place for START-UP. They will take you through the “Introduction to ICONZ” training sessions in the early stages.
  • Complete the ICONZ Leadership application, Police Vetting and Code of Conduct forms for each of the leaders.

The curriculum is provided to the key leader and your new ministry is almost established. At the beginning of each term there will be a team meeting to delegate out the required tasks of programming including promoting the ministry to kids. Meet with your leaders and allocate leadership roles which work best for each individual’s talents & abilities, study the programme and decide on a timeline of things to do leading up to a start date.

Once the start date is set:

  1. Advertising is sent out to churches, schools and other places where kids are found.
  2. Talk to us about any questions you may have!!!
  3. Make sure you invite us to the start-up session so we can celebrate with you!
