BB New Zealand
Leadership
BB Executive Team

Todd Harper BSC. - Vice President (Acting President)

My BB journey has spanned nearly 20 years, starting in the Anchor Boys with the 7th Hamilton Company. Here I gained my queens badge and attended our world-class NLDC training course. In addition to my role as a BB New Zealand Executive Board Member, I am a current trustee of ‘The Boys' Brigade in New Zealand, Northern Regional Trust’. Outside of BB, I am passionate about community-based, not-for-profit organisations and serve in various governance roles through them all. I am passionate about our ministry and know first-hand the impact it can have on the lives of young people. As a communicator by trade and training, I hope I can be a strong voice for the most important stakeholder in our organisation, our boys’.

David Gray - Southern Region Representative

David started his adventure with BB at eight with Life Boys up through Company Section in 11th Southland Company, becoming a Sargent, then reached his Queen’s Badge. After a year with the unit, he entered Otago University.

After five years, he came back to help with his home unit and was appointed as an officer and later became Captain of the Company in 1981 and for the next 8 years. He moved to the other end of the town and joined the 3rd Southland Company as a Lieutenant-in-Charge of the Team Section, then to Captain to present. He holds the position of Battalion President and serves as the treasurer.

At 65 years young, he and his wife, Dianne, have 4 children, two boys and two girls, and this year a grandson. One of his sons also achieved his Queen’s Badge with BB, and his daughters their respective Queen’s Awards through GB. He is self-employed and a home-based accountant by profession. This allows him to pursue his Christian calling to serve with BB and pursue his passions for the outdoors, fishing, whitebaiting, soccer and tramping with the BB Company.
